Lamination is a clear protective film applied to vinyl after it has been printed and provides a level of protection for stickers, signs, and vehicle wraps against scratching and normal wear and tear. Adding lamination also provides a layer of UV protection and therefore reduces ink fading.. Just by placing a laminating sheet over your sticker, you can increase the lifespan by 5+ years, making your sticker waterproof, scratch and tear-resistant, and even dishwasher safe!
Would you like to add application tape or pre-mask? adds $5.99 Premask is the pressure-sensitive tape used to transfer a cut graphic from its release liner to the substrate or to protect a given surface. The release liner, also called the carrier, backing or backing paper, is the portion of the pressure-sensitive construction that protects the film’s adhesive before it is applied.
Pre-mask is applied to the front of the vinyl before applying the vinyl to the substrate and aids in successful production, handling and protection of the graphic during installation. Once the graphics are applied to the substrate, the pre-mask or application tape is removed and discarded. If you have selected the laminate option, you do not need application tape or pre-mask unless you want to make installation a little easier, otherwise it is highly recommended.
